Changes in life.

So I just wanted to provide a life update. I’ve lost 5 lbs so far on my weight loss journey of 2 weeks. It’s definitely not easy and I see why a lot of people don’t undertake it. It takes a lot of effort, patience, and time to see things through to completion. However, I’ve always said that people who play video games should get into fitness. If you like to play games where you gain levels and build stats and things like that, working out is a lot like that. All they need to do is shift that determination to something that will genuinely help them in their life and they’d be good. I’m going to keep at it and do what I need to do to get to my goal.

I’m looking to sell my Rane 70 DJ mixer. Tonight I’m going to package it up and take pictures to post it online and sell it. I’m going to ask for $990, which I think is a great price for a mint condition 70 with Innofader in it and a Decksaver. Hopefully someone will buy it from me because I could use the money right now. Anyway, I’m looking to just keep my DJM-S11 and hopefully Rane or Pioneer releases a new Serato DVS Battle mixer soon and I can get that. The S11 is fire, but it’s missing a lot of the stems features that the DJ controllers have been getting as of late.

I’ve decided I need to make more money. I’ll look for a better paying job, but if that doesn’t pan out, I’ll have to do a side hustle of some type. I was hoping my Youtube channel could provide that, but the channel is growing too slowly, plus I don’t have the motivation or time to put up a lot of content. I’ll make a push to maybe record DJ sets and post it online, because the one time I did that it got a lot of views. I need to get to 1k subscribers though so my videos can be monetized. There’s a ton of people with similar content so it’s hard to really stand out.

The better thing would be to get a higher paying job in IT, but these companies don’t appreciate you as an employee. Especially if you don’t “play the game”. I’ve seen a ton of videos about introverted black people saying they have a hard time in corporate America, to the point where they got out of it and found traction with their Youtube channel or some other entrepreneurial pursuit. I keep telling my wife that she should sell her art on Etsy, but she won’t listen. She should also start a Youtube channel about planning, crafting, etc, but she doesn’t want to. I told her she doesn’t have to use a webcam and can just talk and show her hands like a lot of the women who do that do, but she’s just not interested. It’s too bad too, she has a great energy and she’d do well with it I think.

I’m waiting for AI to “takeover” like they keep telling us it will. Good, let AI sit in bumper to bumper traffic every day and deal with goofy arse people commuting to and from work! I know, I know… be grateful they said… you’re very fortunate they said… pfft. Listen, if you know like I know, there are people out there who are living the life of Riley because they hit it big on Bitcoin or scammed someone out of an idea or money. I for one am tired of being a wage slave and something needs to change soon. I’m not saying I’m going to go postal, but it may be time to revolt in this country… at least the people who aren’t content with being wage slaves can.

And it’s not like if I didn’t work and could still eat and keep a roof over my head I would be sleeping all day. I’d devote my time to music, working out, and reading books more often…anyways, til next time reader, I’ll see you in the next one!

Back in the gym!!!

So I’ve started going back to the gym. I used to go back in the day and I stopped for a while. I kinda go off and on, but I want to be more consistent with it moving forward. It feels really good to get in a good workout and exercise your body like that. Lifting weights is good for both males and females. Opening a window, sliding a patio door open, carrying your groceries in the house. You’ll see a benefit in every day things by lifting weights.

The older we get the harder it can be to get into shape, but I think a lot of people don’t keep their diet proper where it needs to be. They eat fast food, junk food, and then wonder why they can’t lose weight. Losing weight is all about burning more calories each day than you consume. You burn calories sitting at your computer and working. Something like that would be a slow caloric burn, but its still there.

I want to keep my body moving by exercising at home utilizing the VR headset and doing other things like pushups, crunches, and working with my weights I have at home. Going to the gym just gives you access to better equipment and things you can train on your body. It’s 6:43am here right now and the gym opens at 7am. I’m about to head over there. Here’s to a great workout! Peace, love, and light to you reader. L8r!

Fitness is important!!!

So I realized a week ago that I’m getting a bit too heavy. I need to lose weight. I’ve decided I’m going to use my VR headset in my journey of fitness and getting into better shape. I play Beat Saber and march in place while I swing at the blocks. It’s a good workout, and I think that if I stick with it, I’ll drop some pounds in no time. I also need to watch what I’m eating and eat better. Also, you gotta make sure you get sleep because your body adds and removes fat when you’re sleeping believe it or not.

How we gain and lose weight is really an amazing phenomena. You gain it all of a sudden and lose it all of a sudden. Lack of exercise and bad eating will definitely lead to a weight gain that seems to come out of nowhere. You definitely need to watch that and keep an exercise routine going throughout your life. It’s the reason so many people get pot bellies and love handles as they get older. With the rigors of work and home life, it can be hard to fit in an exercise routine.

I suggest getting a VR headset and playing a game like Beat Saber or anything else that requires a lot of movement. Moving your body will keep it fit and ensure that your muscles have stamina, as well as your heart and lungs. Being stagnant and immobile is not good and will quickly lead to health issues. Keep a routine going, and if you can’t afford something like a Meta Quest VR headset, just hit the pavement and walk. Walking is great exercise. I lost a weight before the start of COVID when my job had a weight loss competition. All I did was walk and eat healthier and the weight came falling off. I also lifted weights. I gained it all back after COVID jumped off and I stopped going out and walking as much.

I wish you the best as we traverse through this crazy reality called life. It’s full of disappointments, failures, betrayals, and hardships. But there’s also some joy, happiness, and fun to be had within it. Make getting in shape a priority so you’re ready to deal with the challenges of life, and enjoy the good parts. Peace, love and light, and I’ll catch you in the next one. L8r!
