Hey what’s going on. It’s a late Sunday afternoon and I’ve been scratching all weekend. That’s pretty common for me these days. I don’t watch much TV unless you count Youtube clips and I prefer to spend most of my free time in front of my decks. I’m getting better and better and scratching. I heard DJ Babu say once that you want to get to 10,000 hours of scratching. I did the math on that and it would take about 3.42 years at 8 hours a day. I work full time so doing it 8 hours a day is kind of hard with work and other responsibilities. I get in the time when I can though and when most people are watching TV I’m standing in front of my decks. I wouldn’t trade it for the world and feel grateful to have the setup I have. I recently sold my Numark Scratch as I didn’t really use it much. I took the Innofader Pro I had upgraded it to out before selling though… hehe. I know a lot of DJs collect mixers but I don’t really see the point of that. I’d rather collect vinyl records, slipmats, and DJ needle carts. It looks like we’ll be getting the stimulus from the Feds pretty soon, so after I get some bills paid, I’ll have a bit of dough to spend. I’m probably gonna pick up a few albums off Discogs or something and call it a day. I was considering getting a Traktor Z2 mixer or a MPC One standalone sampler/DAW, but I have decided against that. I’d rather buff up my collection of music. I’m really dedicating myself to scratching and hope to look back to this date, 3/7/21, and be able to say I’m tons better a year from now. I’m definitely seeing progress so let’s get it! Take care and stay safe out there….
