Hi reader. It’s been a while but I’m still among the living. I picked up a Phase wireless DVS unit as well as some Ortofon VNL needles. Both are pretty great and I am going to be putting reviews of each up on my Youtube channel pretty soon. I’m still scratching and getting better and better each day. I watch SI Hargreaves on Youtube and he posted a video about being musical with anything you use as a music instrument, including turntables. It’s better to not just scratch and go through every scratch you do, but build up the sounds and give the listener a pay off from the buildup. It’s kind of like when you’re mixing House music and there’s a great buildup section. If you let the drop hit hard from the same song or the incoming song, it’s dope and it’s a payoff the ear of the listener from that great buildup. However if you mix over to a breakdown, you’ve cheated the listener from listening to that great musical buildup and they didn’t get a payoff. I could make a sexual analogy as well but that wouldn’t be appropriate. Use your imagination. Anyways take care of yourself, stay healthy, take some vacation time off if you got it, and above all try to enjoy this short life we all have. L8r.
